Closure of student dormitories – the Government of the Republic of Slovenia is reapplying the accommodation regime in student dormitories, as in force before 1 April 2021
Dear residents of the ŠDL,
On 8 April 2021, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Decree on the temporary ban on the gathering of people in institutions in the field of education and universities and independent higher education institutions (hereinafter: the Decree) upon which student dormitories were to remain closed; however, the accommodation regime, as in force before 1 April 2021, is being reintroduced. The decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no. 53.
The above-indicated means that student residence halls are to remain closed except for the following exceptions:
- students, who have permanent residence in a residence hall,
- student families,
- foreign students and visiting professors, who are prevented from returning to their place of residence due to the current security situation,
- students, who perform important tasks for the state,
- students, who are involved in taking exams, seminars, laboratory work and individual lessons, which require the physical presence of the student at the faculty (performing distance learning obligations shall not fall within the exceptions).
All student residents, who have temporarily left the ŠDL due to the amendment to the Decree of 1 April 2021, are asked to fill out the Resident’s Declaration for Containment of COVID-19 Spread (April 2021) and the Resident’s Declaration on Fulfilment of the Exemption Condition (April 2021) and send them to the email address: izjeme@stud-dom-lj.si with the enclosed mandatory supporting documentation on the existence of eligibility issued by higher education institutions or other competent institutions before returning to the student dormitories. The declarations with enclosed supporting documentation should also be submitted by those who are to benefit from the exemptions for the first time.
The submission of completed declarations are prerequisite for returning to the ŠDL.
Students residing at the ŠDL must strictly comply with the Extraordinary instructions for stay at Študentski dom Ljubljana to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
Additional information regarding the Decree and accommodation at the ŠDL is available during the office hours of the reception office, by telephone at 051/362‑995.
Any changes and novelties will be available via MojŠtudent application and on our website.
Stay healthy!
Kind regards,
ŠDL Management
